The Real Erin Brockovich • In May 1990, Erin and her husband, Steve Brockovich got divorced. • She later found out she was four months pregnant with Steve’s child. • In the first four months of pregnancy Erin was in a major car accident • Because she was pregnant, no X-Rays or MRI’s were taken. • Erin had Herniated her spinal chord which caused excruciating pain.

  3. The Real Erin Brockovich On visit to Los Angeles Erin met George( the biker boyfriend) She impulsively decided to move to L.A. George introduced Erin to the law firm Masry & Vititoeto help her get surgery for her spine As showed in the movie Erin believed she got gipped out of her money and applied for a job with the law firm Ed Masry came to her with the Hinkley case

Accuracies • Erin really did memorize all 634 Plantiffs. • She suffers from dyslexia and has used memorization all her life. • "We had that water brought in special for you folks.” • Erin actually did have Hinkley water brought in but it happened in a court of law • Chromium 6 is proven to cause lung cancer and cancer of the septum • Erin was awarded the 2 million dollar check at the end of the case.

Pacific Gas and Electric(as of March 13, 2013) PG&E has spent over 7 million dollars in cleaning up Hinkley They Have cleaned only 54 acres of the town It will take at least 40 years before completley cleaning the entire town In the 1950s and ’60s, PG&E admits it dumped 26 tons of a coolant made of chromium 6 into unlined retaining ponds

  7. Facts George was hired by the law firm to watch Erin’s 3 children while she worked on the case The real Erin Brockvich appeared in the movie as a waitress. Erin had no law experience at all until she started working with Masry & Votitoe The Hinkley case lasted four years
