  2. Introducing the Lemur • Did you know that the lemurs name was derived from the Latin word lemur which means haunter? • There are about 100 different types of lemurs!!!! • lemurs are really friendly to people and other animals. a lemur on a woman's head.

  3. What is a lemur? • A lemur is basically somewhat a different type of monkey because if you saw one and didn’t know anything about lemurs then you would say that it was a monkey. • They eat plants and fruits. a lemur eating fruit^^^ a monkey eating fruit^^^^^^

  4. What does a lemur look like? • Some are small and have big eyes. • They have long legs and a LONG tail. • Most of them have two or three colors. a mouse lemur ^^^^^

  5. where do lemurs live? • They live on the island of Madagascar • Some live in tropical rain forests on the island of Madagascar. a rain forest on the island of Madagascar.

  6. How do lemurs travel • They leap from tree to tree in the understory layer of the rain forest. • Some walk along the forest floor. • Some travel together but some travel alone. • Some travel at night but some travel during the day a lemur in a tree.

Just some Facts about Lemurs!! • Once there was a lemur the size of a male gorilla, but now a fully grown lemur is normally 5 to 7.5 pounds with the height of 15 to 18 inches. • The length of there tail is 22 to 25 inches. • The live span is ordinarily 18 years. • Lemurs carry there baby’s the same way Gorillas do, on their back!! a gorilla with its baby. a lemur with its baby.
