  2. You’ll Need • Cornstarch • Baking soda • Salt • Three bowls • Marker • Masking tape • Water • Spoon • Measuring spoons

  3. Step 1. Measure 30 milliliters (2 tablespoons) of cornstarch.

  4. Step 2. Pour the cornstarch into a bowl.

  5. Step 3. Label the bowl “cornstarch.”

  6. Step 4.Measure 30 milliliters (2 tablespoons) of baking soda.

  7. Step 5. Pour the baking soda into a second bowl.

  8. Step 6. Label the bowl “baking soda.”

  9. Step 7. Measure 30 milliliters (2 tablespoons) of salt.

  10. Step 8. Pour the salt into a third bowl.

  11. Step 9. Label the bowl “salt.”

  12. Step 10. Add 25 milliliters (1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons)of water to each bowl.

  13. Step 11. Stir each mixture well. Note the differencesin thickness for each one.
