Grantee Outcome Contributions by Capacity Building Definitions 47 outcome descriptions from 14 projects • 36 outcome descriptions from 12 projects result of new capacities built through PGP. • 9 outcome descriptions from 5 projects as a result of existing capacities enabled.
Network Development and Co-ordination Chatham-Kent United Way with Ontario Not-For Profit Network: “On Friday, November 22, 2013, 52 representatives of local non-profits, foundations, and government officials attended the Ontario Non-profit Network Regional Meeting. At this meeting, the group voted on the need and benefits of forming the Chatham-Kent Non-profit Network.”
Significance of Outcome to Mission of Chatham-Kent United Way The United Way of Chatham-Kent’s mission is to build stronger communities. The network empowers local non-profits to build more community capacity and improve the lives of their clients and families. The formation of this group demonstrates increased trust among “competitors.” The social and economic impact generated by non-profits in Chatham-Kent has been poorly recognized, which leads to issues of funding and stability causing non-profits locally to compete against one another to secure funding for pressing needs.
