Here is one program structure we have used effectively in a few churches. Basically all kids start with worship and then take turns at a craft station and story station. This takes the heat off each adult helper having to prepare everything, every week. It also gives you an opportunity to bring in “craft” people, story tellers and worship helpers on a rotating basis and the small group leader has more time to work on relationships with the kids…. • Accountability • Team approach • Relationship building for children & adults • 1 area of expertise-adult plans/focus on one gift area WORSHIP-all kids together Group A (middle age group & group leader) Group B (older group & group leader) Group C (youngest kids-preschool) Group A CRAFT-led by craft leader (group leader is helper) Group B STORY-led by story leader (group leader is helper) • Group C • Small Group&Playtime • -led by group leader • Prayer Group A STORY-led by story leader (group leader is helper) Group B CRAFT-led by craft leader (group leader is helper) Group C CRAFT-led by group leader • Group A • Small Group-led • by group leader • Prayer • Memory work • Reinforce main concept • Group B • Small Group-led • by group leader • Prayer • Memory work • Reinforce main concept Group C STORY-led by story leader (group leader is helper) WORSHIP-all kids together; (optional if time left; reinforce lesson with game or choruses)
