  2. Theme Behind Islamic Art • Mainstream Islamic art focuses on the spiritual, cultural and regional aspect of the Islamic faith. • Through this art, the creator displays spiritual allusion with the many details of Islam.

  3. Artist: Ahmed Marter Ahmed Marter is a multimedia artist who use the knowledge of Muslim beliefs and knowledge as a doctor to explore human nature. This Saudi Arabian artist depicts the homage to Mecca using this magnet numerous particles of iron. He cleverly represent the followers of Islam with the iron scraps and represents Mecca as the magnet. The iron pieces appear to be gathering and praying to Mecca.

  4. Artist: Ahmed Marter Cont. • Many critics say that this piece does stray from many traditional for of Islamic art, but the concept is clever and well represented. Illuminations IX & X

  5. Artist: Ahmed Marter Cont. Yellow Cow- Marter intricately examines the way humans have acted for centuries and the concept of finding truth by representing commercial food products as a mean to communicate with people.

  6. Closer • As do many contemporary artist, Islamic artist take an individualistic approach to representing their religion. Though beautiful and unique, Islamic art clings to the idea of spiritual enlightenment.
