What makes a GOOD TRAILER? A good trailer consist of the various good components of a film. These include intriguing clips from the film, synchronous sounds, range of camera angles and shot elements are sounds. Also trailer must contain; release date, title, main actors This is done so that the trailer will attract an audience to watch the film. Audience Expectations Target Audience The target audience are young adults, who would enjoy light hearted family orientated comedy - as some of the scenes are orientated around Steve Martins Character and the way he runs his family. This film will also appeal who enjoy two different types of comedy. From the trailer Bringing down the house, the audience would expect the film to make them laugh, as the 2 main actors are well established actors, known for their roles comedy and other roles. After watching the trailer, audience will expect these two come together due to a situation that both of them get involved in. In this scene, Charlene is teaching the kid to read, but using inappropriate reading material – this is a funny element, as you would expect Charlene to know better as the adult , and take on more of a motherly role towards the young child.

Is this effective trailer ? Does it tease? I believe that this a successful trailer, because of the comical punch line, that attract the audience into watching the film. Also the company have established the 2 main characters well, who are completely different from each other- it draws the audience to see how they interact with each other.
Stereotypes & Ideology Queen Latifah is female however represented as a typical black male, in the sense she has just been released from prison, and trying to find refuge.
