  4. Donation Receipt: $10,000 Charity buyer STEP 3: You are entitled to a donation receipt for the fair market value of the medicine you purchased. The government’s formulary pricing for this medicine is at least $1.11 per dose. How much did you pay for it? Although the formulary value is higher, we can only issue you a donation receipt for your actual cost…$10,000. The rule is that the donation receipt must equal your cost. We appreciate your donation. We will issue your donation receipt I would like to donate the medicine I just purchased to your charity. Thank you for your donation. The medicine cost me $10,000.
