  2. Meet Gaea Hello my name is Gaea but you may call me Mother Earth. I am a senior citizen goddess. I am in charge of the earth if you couldn’t tell by my nickname. Let me tell you a little about myself. I was created out of an enormous energy called Eros, or love. I married my son Uranus and together we had the first race of gods. They are called titans. I pretty much gave birth to all nature. My symbol is the earth anything on it and a circle with a + in the middle. I enjoy talking to my children and grandchildren on oovoo.   4. The Creation Myth Why don’t I tell you about the day I was born and all creation started. Before all things started there was nothing. Just darkness. How boring is that. Finally a Nynx came and laid an egg. A Nynx is a black bird. She laid and egg and sat on it for AGES. Finally out of this golden egg came my Father Eros better known as love. One half of the shell came rose up and became the sky and my son and husband Uranus. The other half of the shell became the earth or me. Me and Uranus had many kids and they had many kids. Once my son Kronos even swallowed his kids!!! Good thing I saved Zeus though by telling rhea to put a rock in a blanket for Kronos to swallow! Zeus My baby picture

  5. What Where When The Eleusinian Mysteries festival is the festival for both Demeter and Me because we are so closely recognized with each other. We are both associated with the earth and its ground. The Eleusinian festival first took place in Eleusis where Demeter was kindly greeted by Queen Metaneria. The Eleusinian Mysteries festival takes place twice a year in spring and in fall The Elusinians Mysteries Festival Why Misc. The Eleusinian festival was held in honor of the return of Persephone Gaea’s granddaughter How –adjective 1. of or pertaining to Eleusis or to the Eleusinian mysteries. –noun 2. a native or inhabitant of Eleusis. Fasting and ritual purification in the sea takes place before a large procession from Athens to Eleusis.

  6. My Image • My image is very different from most gods and goddesses. Some gods make fun of me because I look different here are some basic ideas of what I look like: • Sometimes I am mixed in with the earth e.g. my head will be resting on the top of a mountain and my neck will start the mountain • Other times my face will be blue and my neck will start/be the river like the picture shown in the background • When I am shown as a human and not a part of nature I have curly brown hair my stomach is the world and I am Caucasian • Here are some pictures of me:

  7. My Terrible "Disease" My Terrible "Disease" Global Warmimg Global Warming is the rising of the Earths temperature. If we don’t act fast Earths Natural beauty will be destroyed. Ice Bergs are melting and Oceans are rising and this is making me extremely hot considering the earth is my stomach!

What you can do to help • Even Though the global warming has gotten bad there are ways you can help reverse the effect it has had on me here are a few tips: • Switch to energy efficient lighting • Buy energy efficient appliances • Reduce energy needed for heating and cooling • Drive less • Buy a fuel efficient car/chariot • RECYCLE • Paint your home a light color if you live in a warm climate, or a dark color in a cold climate. This can contribute saving up to 5000 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.
