  2. Course Description • This course covers aspects of health and social care within the context of different service-user groups. These groups include health, early years, older people and those with individual needs. • The single advanced award comprises six equally-weighted units of work. • Two units of work are assessed externally and four internally via a portfolio of evidence. • This course is supported by weekly tutorials delivered via video-conferencing.

  3. AS Units The three units studied at AS are:- • Human Growth and Development 6938 (externally assessed) • Communication and Values 6939 (internally assessed) • Positive Care Environments 6940 (internally assessed)

  4. A2 Units The three units studied at A2 are:- • Meeting Individual Needs 6944 (externally assessed) • Promoting Health and Wellbeing 6945 (internally assessed) • Investigating Disease 6946 (internally assessed)

  5. Exam Board and Entry Requirements Exam Board Details • Edexcel • AS GCE Single Award 8741 • A GCE Single Award 9741 • Minimum Entry Requirements • GCSE mean score of 5.5, including English and Maths at Grade C or above.
