Introduction This experiment was done to understand how are animal cells and plant cells are different. This experiment was also to help me understand cells better. • Materials • Microscope • Plastic Slides • Glass Slides • Blue Dye • Yellow Dye • Onion Plant • Tropical Plant • Skin Cell or Cheek Cell • Method • First, we took samples from different objects, like plants and skin. Then we put each sample onto a glass slide with a a dye to take a closer look. For the human cells, we used a blue dye to be able to look at the cells better. For the plant cells, we used a yellow dye and the blue dye. After recording what we saw, we took pictures of the each cell at different amount of magnification. After we did our experiment, i wanted to know more about cells so i did some research to help. Results From doing the investigation we were able to learn about cells and the difference of animal and plant cells. We learned that all living organism on earth is built upon cells and that there are parts that build up a cell, like proteins and organelles. There are also larger pieces called tissues and systems. I learned that the main purpose of a cell is to organize. Cells hold a variety of pieces and each cell has a different set of functions. It is easier for an organism to grow and survive when cells are present. We also learned the difference between animal and plants cells. As shown in the table to the right. We also took pictures of the cells close up. Conclusion In conclusion, by doing our expirement, we have found out the main idea behind the cell, which is to organize, and the main differences between plant and animal cells. We also were able to get a closer look of the inside of a cell through a microscope for a better understanding. We were also able to learn how to use a microscope and what dyes to use when examining objects under a microscope. Figure 1. Common Human cell. Text Plant Animal
