Computer History Timeline • 1950 – Hideo Yamachito made The first electric computer • 1951-UNIVAC introduced; EDVAC introduced • 1955- Bell labs makes transistor comp. • 1956-optical fiber introduced • 1957-sputnik I & II launched • 1958-ARPA and NASA formed; Silicon chip invented • 1960-COBOL invented • 1962- First computer game invented

  5. CPU • Central Processing Unit: all processes go through this thing every key you type or click of mouse.

  6. Video Card • A video card enhances the video graphics and quality.

  7. RAM Random Access Memory- is borrowed memory the computer uses for loading it is faster memory works with the fbs

  8. Hard drive • Random Access memory that is a disk with protective cover

  9. CD-ROM • Compact Disk Read Only Memory it is a disk you put into the CD-Rom drive and it will read the info. And it can run programs, music, and games.

  10. USB Universal Serial Bus it is a port you can plug different accessories into it load it through

  11. PCI Port • Peripheral Component Interconnect-it connects hardware to the computer

  12. Motherboards • Connects all the hardware to each other.

  13. Power Source It consists of a power cord and an outlet it provides electricity so the computer can function.
