    1. Welcome to….INTERVARSITY Syracuse Christian Fellowship !

    2. Did you know?...that SU started as a Christian school? Excerpts from 1873 Dedication of Hall of Languages…. It is the Holy Spirit which takes of the things of Christ and shows them unto men. So far as our prayers, counsels and influence may go these shall all be directed to secure not only be intellectual cultivation of our students but also that spiritual transformation which is expressed in the term conversion or regeneration. …. We take this earliest opportunity to suggest to the students the propriety of organizing a Christian association or society of missionary or of religious inquiry, by whatever name it may be called for the promotion of the spirit of evangelism in this institution.   By the way, ALL the speeches were like this!

    3. Our Emphasis In cooperation with the other evangelical groups on campus, we want to: Encourage new students to know and follow Jesus Christ, ……and to encourage Christians to know Him and His word more fully, and be used by Him on the campus. We do this through Bible studies , worship, & fellowship events

    4. Our Emphasis (cont) Student led Bible studies & discussions For students experienced with the Bible For those seeking to understand God Personal conversations with students about Christ One-on-one & small groups as opportunities arise Groups of two, going out weekly, engaging in questions and conversations Outings and events A way to have some fun and fellowship with each other A way to invite & meet new students

    8. Expedition ‘06

    9. Expedition '06 > Track Descriptions Gearing Up – seekers and new believers Many never finish an expedition due to inadequate supplies. Properly gearing up is a must for a successful trip. Our expedition with Christ must begin with knowing what we will need for a successful journey. Want to know more about what it means to follow Christ? Feeling a little unsure you've packed the right supplies for the life-long trip? Not a problem. Register for Gearing Up! We're looking forward to seeing you on the summit! Note: Gearing Up is a prerequisite for all the other tracks. Exceptions can be made with Staff approval only. Map & Compass – growing believers On any trip you need to know how to get to where you.re going. Things are no different on your journey with Christ. As you continue to explore what it means to be a Christian you will need a guidebook to help you along the way. The Bible is your Map & Compass. This track helps you get the most out of your Bible, helping you dig out the main truths of each passage, and apply those truths to guide you on your expedition. Clipped In – leaders and team members Every expedition involves significant elements of risk such as avalanche, high winds, inclement weather, and rock fall. Therefore it is strongly recommended you climb clipped in with at least two or three others. Every spiritual expedition involves risks too. This track specializes in equipping you to be clipped into a team committed to completing the expedition together. In this track you will see great examples of team work in the Bible to help us learn how we can similarly encourage and support others on the same spiritual journey with Christ. This track is not limited to, but it is especially ideal for current and/or future leaders. Crossroads – juniors and seniors You are coming up on a crossroad. Which path should you take? Or should you make your own path? Do you know where you want to go? What factors will you consider as you try to decide? Who will you travel with? How can you be sure you won't wear out, get lost or run out of resources? Crossroads is a chance to think, pray and learn together with other believers who are facing the big decisions students encounter during the last year of college. Even if you know some of your future plans, there are still so many choices ahead about jobs, relationships, ministry and lifestyle. Come and seek God's wisdom!

    21. If this is all new to you? Jesus said: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. [Re 3:20 ] Jesus Christ has done many incredible things for those of us on campus who have decided to follow Him. Ask around and listen to some of our stories. At this new student welcome last year, a freshman got into some conversations, and later that night, alone in her dorm prayed that Jesus Christ would start guiding her life. Immediately she began to experience wonderful changes to her life and relationship with God. So… meet some students tonight and see what they have to say!

    22. We’d like to hear from you…… What’s your feedback on this? Your interests?
