Scope Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) was established in 1953 and since then has grown to be the largest grassroots Football association within Australia  The SSFA has over 17,500 members involved in all aspects of the sport, ranging from non competitive small sided football, competitive junior boys, junior girls, men’s and women’s. It is primarily funded through player fees with small amounts of corporate sponsorship.  The SSFA has affiliation with the Shire Referees Association (SSFRA), Futsal (SSFA) and Premier League club (Sutherland Sharks).  The SSFA is a member association of Football NSW (FNSW) and ultimately of Football Australia (FFA).

  4. Membership Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) has 26 Member clubs covering the boundaries of the Shire involving 17500+ players

  5. Participation We hold games at 30 complexes over 70 separate playing fields. We hold over 700 games each weekend for 18 rounds aggregating to over 12,000 games in the regular season We have over 11000 junior players of which 3375 are junior girls. This represents 30% of our junior players and is growing each year. SSFA has 5000 female players across all age groups. Girls and women represent 30%of our total player numbers. We have another 200+ players in our representative teams We have another 50+ players in our Football 4 All club Titans who address the need of children and adults with special needs Our Association covers teams from U’6’s to over 45’s. The youngest players are 4 and our oldest over 60! The influence effect of our player base at a multiplier of 3 = over 50000 people that have involvement as a player, parent, spectator or friend every week. There is in excess of 2500 volunteers involved each week.
