State has achieved NPK ratio of 4:1.2:1. • State has requested for assistance to create organic farming system.

  7. GOA • State is deficient in food production essentially because of very large floating tourist population. However, Kharif targets will be met. • State is promoting public and private partnership for extension involving industry and cooperatives.

  8. ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS • 93% of the area is under forestry in the UT and a small area of 50,000 ha. is available for agriculture, essentially plantation crops. • State has expanded its extension network through Rural Knowledge Centre and Extension Centres. • High value agriculture programme is being implemented in place of National Horticulture Mission. • Tribal areas of Nicobar Island have been made completely organic. • UT faces serious problems in transportation of copra. • UT has requested for revision of standards of copra to make it eligible for MSP.
