At the time of writing this edition, the season is almost here, almost ready to put the matts away and already some exciting news for the Rabbits section…. Mike RC & Gary RVC • Headlines: • 65 members have so far signed up to the Rabbit section this year! • 2012 RT Morley team announced. We profile the selection. • HHDRGA League cup draw 1st round. CNP get an away fixture. • Rabbit singles draw to be made at the end of March. • Race night raises club funds and we know who knows their dogs…. RT Morley selection 2012 Rabbit Singles: With over 60 Rabbits now registered in this years competition, the excitement and anticipation for the pre lim and 1st round draw can be felt already around the club! A number of rabbits have been posting great winter league scores… will you want to draw any of these … Singles knockout Match play Yellow tees Congratulations….. N Muffit: 2011 semi finalist M Tiffany: 2011 Rabbit Shield winner G Thomas: Buck Rabbit consistency Paul Mason: League singles experience J Haverstock: Experience and past winner K Williams: Rabbit captain wild card. N Evans: Rabbit captain wild card. C Burns: Rabbit captain wild card. Social event round up Members who know their dogs! The following all won prizes for owning a winning dog….nice… Shaun Higgins, Steve Brown, John Blackburn, Roy Bedford, Mark Mitchell, Mick Rooney, Ruth Wilson, Gill Woodbottom. Thank you to all who supported the night. Next big Rabbit events:: Singles draw: end March Millennium Trophy 22nd April May day Shield 3rd May 8 players 16 -28 4 sections (A/B/C/D) 2 players in each section League and friendly fixtures Survey question coming your way ..Would you be happy to pay £10 for a Rabbit section shirt? New members – get your cards in 3rd hole Rabbit Tuesdays. The first official date is 10th April, but if you want to socialise before e mail Mike or Gary now and we’ll set up a Tuesday evening tee…. mikegreenberry@gmail.com or garyspeight1@hotmail.co.uk Start to check if you can make these dates. Lists will start to be posted on the notice board CNP Rabbits friendly fixtures Huddersfield & Halifax District Rabbits Golf Association - HHDRGA Yorkshire Rabbits Golf Association - YRGA Representative news: The league cup 1st round was drawn at the HHDRGA league meeting held on the 29th Feb. CNP found themselves the 6th club name drawn with an away fixture against West End. Mike, Gary and John C will be looking for players who have a good knowledge and confidence at this Halifax venue to help selection. Interestingly, there is a friendly fixture against West end on the 25th March. Maybe some practice? Cup to be played by 16th May. Confirmation of CNP’s entry into the YGA 75th Anniversary has been confirmed. The Rabbit committee will be selecting a team of 5 to represent the club by the end of March, together with nominations for the HHDRGA Mellor, Presidents day and 3 Man Norgate trophy team. Mellor 1st rnd (pairs foursomes) also been drawn. Sect A away HX Ogden, Sect B Home Huddersfield Contact: RC Mike Greenberry or RVC Gary Speight.
