  3. History • Cited by Code Enforcement in Sept. 2006 • Complied by submitting application for SE • Planning Commission May 16, 2007 • SE approved by BoCC August 30, 2007 • Conditions – 300 cats by 2/14/08 • - 144 cats by 2/14/09 • 25’ wide medium-density buffer on south and east

History • City of High Springs filed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari to challenge the SE on September 28, 2007 • Joint public meeting February 11, 2008 • Both parties agreed to request order to quash. • Original SE was invalidated by the Court 3/14/08 upon the request and agreement of Alachua County and City of High Springs

Current Application • New application to allow 250 cats submitted May 27, 2008 • Approximately 280 cats at last inspection in February 2009 • Planning Commission voted 5-0 to recommend denial on April 15, 2009 • BoCC Public Hearing started May 12, 2009, was continued to June 9, and then to current hearing
