  1. Creative Soul Consulting Evolutionary World View, Social Justice and Philanthropy: A series of thoughts, a series of inquiries

  2. Courageous Love It is from being courageous enough to honor and hold the truth that we create cohesion and closeness and not idealist division.

  3. Overview • Honoring sacredness of diversity • The inter-connectedness of our strength and struggle • Beyond the illusion of separation: What does diversity have to do with me? • From Translation to Invitation: Healing Ecology Guides • Philanthropy, Social Justice and World View • Conclusion

  4. Kisha: Evolutionary World View We are the living face of evolution, the eyes and hands and minds of the universe weaving itself into its next manifestations, day after day after day Sacred Weave: Spirit is all there is. Spirit has separated itself to know itself including in to communities of color; diversity is critical to the weaving that we are all connected to and originate from. Microcosm:You create the microcosm in your every day lives (within and without) of inclusiveness and empowerment of POC When the face of the evolution is a POC, how we walk on the planet is effected by our physical manifestation Honoring the universe and its manifestations is to also to honor its history, our cultures, our stories, our ancestry, how we walk on the planet and how the planet responds to us Sacredness of Diversity

  5. There is no separation between our communities. We are an integrated dance. We are a mutual truth. The truth that what you do or don’t do, what you share and don’t share, what actions you take and don’t take, have a direct impact on our communities as we have a direct impact on yours… This has been our struggle and it can be our strength if we allow it to be What if we were to be honest and vulnerable and coalition build around this truth? “This is what is happening with my people. I know that this is happening there in your community. We have a deep connected relationship. I see these dynamics mirrored, because they would not happen with my people if that dynamic was not happening in the your community. This dynamic is what is damaging us and you.” Inter-connectedness of our strength and struggle

  6. Isolation Disconnection Shame Fear Desperate Acculturation Ignorance We have all been effected, cut up, fragmented and it keeps happening Keep us separated from ourselves, each other, planet and Spirit All has served us (legacies), if we allow it to inform the future evolutionary consciousness Address the dynamics:We all are being hurt

  7. Health Disparities Prison Industrial Complex Poverty Violence Education Courageous Love: Gain an understanding as to how that particular weave has come about is important to understand how it evolves in to a new form of inter-connectedness that is nourishing everyone involved What is my part in its creation and proliferation? How do I benefit? How can I be a part of the evolutionary evolution of social justice? Beyond the illusion of separateness towards wholeness:What does social justice have to do with me?

  8. Evolution and Social Justice: Nothing is itself…without everything else • Permaculture:Nothing is wasted, everything has multiple-purposes. Each and every thing has intrinsic value • Personal zero waste policy-everything changes, can see wisdom, energy, creativity in everything and everyone • Relationships with different people, cannot be expendable when it is personal • Get to know people outside of fear, competition and power • Seeing yourself in 10,000 things

  9. The Evolutionary World View Feedback loops that help individuals experience the positive and negative effects of their own acts. Transform ourselves, our consciousness, our social systems and cultures, and our technologies -- in ways that serve our long-term collective flourishing as part of a flourishing Earth. A dance of cooperation and competition Look to history (external definitions of what needs to be transformed and how) to ensure we are not re-creating spiritual colonialism Create Sacred Space for Owning history and our parts in it: Ownership of our history (what was before) as POC for strength, guidance and perseverance as a form of self-love, taking no prisoners and liberating ourselves Ownership of history by non-POC and privileged folks, their place in it, their continual perpetuation of it (consciously and unconsciously), so we can move forward in a place of wholeness Deciding what is core, whole and beautiful, what is just love? From Translation to an Invitation: Healing Ecology Guides

  10. Funding people-based initiatives: re-connect marginalized and disenfranchised people with their own divine power, ability to make new choices, effect change (Relevant & Sustainable) Funding at places of greatest impact: Grassroots up, ground up make larger systemic change Fund evolving processes (time) Fund dialogues that connect the whole: create linkages as to how our struggles our connected and integrated outside of objectification (victim/victimizer) Mutual accountability Mutual transparency Invest in emerging leadership Philanthropy, Social Justice and Evolution: Back to the heart

  11. Involving those closest to ground in determining their solutions: Listen to and trust the people and their highest vision as to what is possible for themselves Systematic change in grantmaking: Inclusive policies and practices (intention-how you walk on the land and do the least harm?) Address social and economic injustices that affect marginalized and disenfranchised communities: Grassroots economic development (better organize themselves against external factors such as gender discrimination, culture and health disparities) Focus on marginalized and disenfranchised: honoring knowledge and wisdom within our communities honor the ways we live We are the people we serve: Mutually empowering relationships in grantmaking: honors needs, issues, strength and opportunities of both parties (matching human energy, intelligence and courage) Diversifying the face of philanthropic professionals (we are the people that we serve) Creative Soul ConsultingTrust, Transparency, Relevancy, Love & Spirit
