  2. INTRODUCTION • Information search is necessary for realization of scientific research. Search does not become isolated only one frameworks of library fund as it is in traditional understanding. Presently information search is conducted in a network of the Internet. • INTERNET • 1961 – Leonard Klainrok has published the work which was dedicated the batch switching. • 1965 – Thomas Meril and Lawrence Roberts: technology of batch switching allows to create the distributed networks. • 1968 – Lawrence Roberts and DARPA based network DARPNET. • 1969 (2-nd January) – Birthday of a Network. Later network • DARPNET was renamed as INTERNET. • 2000 - 407.1 millions users of the Internet.

  3. PART 1 • Search servers divide into 2 groups: • 1 – search machines or indexing robots; • 2 – portals, catalogues or directories. • Search machines: • 1. World famous search systems: GOOGLE.com, AltaVista.com, • GIGABLAST.com, ASK.com,MSN.com, Clusty.com, • SearchAOL.com, EntireWEB.com,AMFIBI.com. • 2. Russian powerful search servers: Rambler.ru, Yandex.ru, • NIGMA.ru, Google.ru, Gogo.ru,Metabot.ru, Webalta.ru, • TURTLE.ru.

  4. Portals, catalogues:1. International catalogues: Yahoo.com, DMOZ.org, Galaxy.einet.net, Aeiwi.com, goseekit.com, Jumpcity.com.2. Russian search catalogues:APORT.ru, Au.ru, Data.ru, Weblist.ru, Dir.ru, www.ru, Search.sites.ru, www.ulitka.ru, www.pointer.ru, search.centre.ru.

  5. UNIVERSAL SCIENTIFIC SEARCH SYSTEMS • Scirus – clauses from magazines of the large foreign publishing houses. There are about 17 million clauses. In resources of the Internet are more than 250 million index pages. • Google Scholar – clauses of large publishing houses, archives of pre-print, publications from sites of universities and organizations. • Science Research Portal – clauses from magazines of publishing houses as Elsevier, Highwire, IEEE, Nature, Taylor&Francis. • Portal Infortrieve-article – more than 35 000 physics, technique, medicine, biology magazines. • Portal High Wire Press + Medline - clauses from 968 madazines, it makes nearly 1.39 million clauses.

PART 2THE SPECIALIZED PROGRAM-TOOL MEANS • International program-tool means: • Fedora, EPrints, Greenstone, DSpace. • Characteristics: • - EPrints – electronic repository are created in languages: Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Japanese. • - Greenstone – interfaces have been made in languages: Arabian, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kazakh, Maori, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish. • - DSpace – has users in 800 organizations from all countries of world.

PART 3THE SPECIALIZED PROGRAM COMPLEXES • Russian program complexes: • IRBIS, LibOnline 1.0, ISHI-M. • Characteristics: • - IRBIS – supports only formats PDF, DOC, HTML, TXT. • - LibOnline 1.0 – supports only 2 formats PDF, DJVU. • - ISHI-M – supports formats HTML, PDF, MS Word, JPEG, TXT, TIF.

  10. PART 4THE DEVELOPMENT OF ODINECET PROJECT • Since 2007 the project of creation international repository “Ceemar” was began start. The libraries from 5 countries: Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Russia , Ukraine – had participation in it. • In 2008 the repositories of 3 organizations were created: Ceemar repository, IBSS-repository, “Manakin”-repository.
