Roles and Responsibilities for CICs Spring Semester, 2011 • Continue to check email and HISD-CIC wiki in order to disseminate information to campus staff • Complete Spring CIC Activity log (due with principal’s signature to PDS office by April 15, 2011) Download from CIC wiki and save on your desktop to complete. Save file on your desktop as Campus_CICname_Spring 2011.xls You may email signed copy or mail it to Lori Grossman, PDS, Route 7. • Conduct a campus forum following the protocol provided during the CIC meeting

Roles and Responsibilities • Participate in a CIC update webinar in April/May (Details will be provided in email and on HISD-CIC wiki) • Participate in a CIC update webinar in July, 2011 for the 2011-2012 school year (Details will be provided in email and on HISD-CIC wiki) • Mentor data collection will consist of the mentor submitting a stipend request form which will be sent to CIC through email and will be on the HISD-CIC wiki.

CIC Stipends and Mentor Stipends • CIC stipends for the fall semester have been entered into Peoplesoft for payment by the end of January if all requirements were fulfilled. • January-December, 2010 mentor stipends are entered for payment by late January if all requirements were fulfilled. • Spring CIC stipends will be dependent upon attendance at one of the Spring CIC meetings and the completion/submission of the Spring CIC activity log with quality support of mentees, mentors and other staff members. • Mentor stipend request forms for Aug-May mentorships will be due on April 15, 2011. In addition, the proper MAS entries will be viewed online.

  6. Announcements • ABRAZO Beginning Teachers Learning Community Forums to be held on February 5 and April 2 and June 14 and 15, 2011. Flyer to be emailed. • PDAS training for new teachers is online. Contact Pearl Black- pblack@houstonisd.org • New Employee Orientation will be held on January 24, 2011. More Announcements MAS Challenges and Practices • Still unable to enter mentor/mentee relationship when one person is at a different campus (enter mentor/mentor and keep the interactions with mentee on MAS) • Still unable to enter certain relationships if the mentor or mentee is on a split campus (Elem/MS or MS/HS) • Make sure that the principal has approved all relationships within the system • Ensure that mentors are providing ample support for the new teachers to develop as highly effective and are recording these interactions, observations, and CALS on MAS

Save it as directed and complete as you interact with your campus staff and fulfill roles and responsibilities.
