  1. Music Chords and Its Basic Terminology: Chords are a Combination of notes that are played at the same time. You can create Chords from all twelve notes, but there is a single note called root to built chords. They are the building blocks of any song. These are the Basics of Music Theory taught in Music School in South Delhi or outside.

  2. Types of Chords: • Triad Chords: This is the most common chord. A triad Chord is made up of three notes. It has a root, a third and a perfect fifth note. Triads are the foundation of complex chords. • Major Chords: Major Chord is the combination of a root, major third and a perfect fifth. These three notes chord is called a major triad. • Minor Chords: It is made up of a root, a minor third and perfect fifth. These three notes combination is called minor triad.

It sounds tense and dramatic. • Augmented Chords: it is made up of a root, major third and augmented fifth. It sounds unsettling, mysterious and dissonant. • Seventh Chord: Seventh chord in build up by adding a note to the basic triad. It has a root, third, perfect fifth and a seventh.

  4. Chord Extensions:- • The notes added to the primary triads beyond seventh; it is called Chord Extensions. They create harmonically complex sound and provide the addition voice, which makes the chord progressions more interesting.

  5. Chord Inversions: • Chord inversion is the process of transposing notes in a chord to a different octave. They are the variation of the same chord that adds excitement and smoother transitions to the chord progression.

  7. Roman numeral Analysis: • Roman Numerals in music theory indicated the chords in the progression. They identify the root note and musical keys for chords. Upper Roman numerals for major chords while the lower for Minor.
