  30. FERPA Waiver Form • By signing this form, it allows university officials to converse with your parents/guardians. FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) A federal law intended to protect the privacy of education records, to establish the rights of students to inspect and review their education records and to provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading information through informal or formal hearings.

NOTE: we will place a registration hold to first time freshmen students with less than 24 hours. COB Academic Policies • Grade Point Average (GPA) for Graduation • 2.0 for all credit course work completed at TAMUCC. • 2.0 for all business courses. • 2.0 in courses in their designated major. • Two Ds Rule: Effective fall 2012, no more than two Ds earned after fall 2007 are accepted toward graduation by business majors in business core classes, courses taken in their business major, and business elective courses.

COB Academic Policies (cont.) • Community/junior College Transfers • Must seek approval of academic advisor if taking courses at another institution. • Business courses must transfer with a grade of “C” or better. • At least 50% of the business hours required must be taken at TAMUCC. • Courses cannot be used to satisfy upper-division requirements except for BLAW 3310 and ORMS 3310. • Consult academic advisor for specific information and course equivalency guide.

For more information visit: http://www.cob.tamucc.edu/current_students/ethics.html • Business students must also complete BUSI 0011- COB Student Code of Ethics and Plagiarism, a non-credit Blackboard course which is a prerequisite for upper-division courses.

COB Academic Policies (cont.) • Major Field Test (MFT) • Integral part of the COB’s Assurance of Learning program. • National standardized multiple-choice test developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). • Administered to senior business students at many AACSB International institutions in the U.S. • Measures basic knowledge of and understanding of key concepts, theories and analytical methods in the functional areas of business.
