  2. Coaching Styles There are 3 specific styles in which you can deliver lessons: • Command • Submissive • Cooperative

Command Style The command styleis when all decisions are made by the sports leader with no input from the pupils. sports leaders role tell the athlete what to do. athlete’s role listen, to absorb and to comply with the coach’s directions It’s proven that the command style can be very effective if winning is the primary goal and its authoritarian nature does not contain the athlete’s motivation. Advantages what the sports leader says is final and expects high standards for everything happening Disadvantagesnot letting the athletes enjoying themselves and not giving them room for error.

  4. Submissive Style The submissive style is when the sports leader provides very little instruction or direction and is typically happy Sports leader role allow athletes to do what they want Athletes Roledo what they want within the confines of the aim of the session Advantages just get through the practice, no discipline problems because pupils are left to do what they want. Disadvantages sports leader lacks the competence or knowledge required to instruct and the desire or will to do so , sports leaders do not accept the responsibilities they have taken on, discipline issues can lead to health and safety issues or child safety such as bullying.

Cooperative Style The cooperative style of coaching is when the coaches share the decision making with athletes sports leaders role provide their team to set their own goals and to strive to achieve them. athlete’s role set own goals and strive to achieve them Advantages allows the athlete to have some margin of error and make decisions towards a target and how its achieved. Disadvantagesdeciding how much freedom to give the pupils in order to improve
