  1. Warwick Castle By: Haley Malloy Chichester Middle School 7th Grade

  2. Location • Warwick Castle is located on the bend of River Avon, in Warwickshire, England.

  3. Size • Warwick’s property takes up 60 acres of land. With a dungeon that is 19ft by 13ft and the towers are over 100ft tall, this is definitely a big castle.

  4. History • Warwick Castle was built in 1068 by Henry de Beaumont on the orders of William the Conqueror. Passed down from generation to generation, finally handed to William Mauduit. During his ownership, and the Baron War, the castle was attacked, and badly damaged by Simon de Montfort’s forces. William was captured and then released when he paid ransom, then later died. The castle was handed to his sister’s son William de Beauchamp. The Beauchamp family fixed and restored the castle. After more generations the castle became royal property during the reign of Henry VII and Henry VIII. Now the castle stands tall and proud in its position today.

  5. Warwick Castle Map • Warwick Castle’s property is mostly walls around the outside areas so you don’t have to leave the castle’s property to go outside. Also, towers to watch for attackers, and the walls keep them out.
