What is Compassionate Communication? • Compassionate Communication is the ability to talk through a difficult situation with another person – a situation in which your needs are not being met. • It is the ability to state your feelings and needs effectively – in a way that others can hear and respond to helpfully.

  4. The Four Parts • I notice… • I need… • I feel… • I would like it if you would… or I wonder if you would…

  5. Exercise • I notice…. Just the facts, Ma’am!

  9. Creating teamwork and positive relationships • Learning how to effectively communicate will enhance your ability to be a good team member. • Knowing how to state your needs, express your feelings and negotiate a positive result is empowering! • It is also a prerequisite for leadership.

  10. The Big “C” • One of the most important skills to develop is COMMUNICATION! • Your willingness to practice these skills will enhance your life as well as help others.
