  13. Required to be admitted: lower university degree (B.Sc.) in engineering technology The studies corresponding to the degree of B.Sc. (180 credits) must be completed at the student’s home university Master’s degree in engineering technology 120 credits of studies of which A minimum of 70 credits of advanced studies need to be completed at LUT (40 cr. of studies + 30 cr. diploma thesis) A maximum of 50 credits may be transferred from the student’s previous degrees Structure of theDouble Master’s Degree Programme

Structure of theDouble Master’s Degree Programme • The structure of the study program is the same for all the degree programs realized in cooperation with Russian partner universities. • max. 50 ECTS will be transferred from student’s previous degrees or studies • min. 40 ECTS credits of courses must be completed at LUT • the Master’s thesis, 30 ECTS credits, must be completed at LUT • To be completed during the autumn semester: 40 ECTS credits of LUT courses of which at least 16 ECTS credits must consist of major subject courses • To be completed during the spring semester: the master’s thesis 30 ECTS credits

  16. Lappeenranta Student Housing Foundation (LOAS) • The Lappeenranta Student Housing Foundation (LOAS) is a housing community for all students in Lappeenranta. It upholds about 3000 residences for students in the best residential areas of Lappeenranta Town near the educational institutes. • There is Lnet -network or Sonera Internet Cable -internet connection in every room. • http://www.loas.fi/Default.asp?NakymaID=7

  17. What does it cost? The guarantee fee Before a tenancy agreement is signed, LOAS collects a guarantee fee of 70 euros from all the inhabitants which will be returned when the tenancy agreement has been terminated, if all the obligations have been fulfilled towards LOAS and the apartment has been signed away in a proper condition. The guarantee fee form will be send to inhabitants along with a letter which contains the offer of apartment. Other fees - A separate fee is charged for the use of electricity, sauna and laundry roomà 15 €/month/a room. - A furniture fee is charged from the tenants who use the LOAS furnitureà 7 €/month/a room. Bedclothes A mattress, a duvet and a pillow (leave in the room when moving out). Bed linen package 8 €: A bed-sheet, a blanket cover, a pillow case, a bath towel and a face towel. Rents Rents vary according to size, condition and location of the apartment from 230 to 270 euro per month

Admissions requirements • Educational background • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in the field or a closely related one • Language skills requirements (minimum) • TOEFL score 80 iBT/550 PBT or • IELTS 6.0 or * • Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE), level A, B or C • In addition there can be some programme specific requirements * LUT is planning to organize IELTS language testing in its premises in Lappeenranta during the application period in February 2011. Another test is also planned to be held in Lappeenranta in May 2011.

Tuition Fees and Tuition Fee Scholarships • Tuition fees for LUT’s Master's programmes may vary for students outside EU or EEC.  For more information, please see the Master's programme pages at www.lut.fi/masters • LUT offers tuition fee scholarships based on academic excellence to support the studies of international students at our university. The tuition fee scholarship covers the tuition fee. • The criteria for tuition fee scholarships are made by the Degree Programme and the Faculty • The selection of students eligible for a scholarship is made by the Faculty and Degree Programmes • The decision for scholarship based on faculty’s statement is made by LUT’s Rector • Tuition Scholarship application forms can be found atwww.lut.fi/masters during the application period beginning on January 3, 2011

Full Scholarships including Financial Aid • LUT offers full scholarships based on academic excellence and need for financial aid to support the studies of international students at our university. • The full scholarship covers the tuition fee (if present) and living expenses. • The criteria for full scholarships are set by the Degree Programme and the Faculty • The selection of students eligible for a scholarship is made by the Faculty and Degree Programmes • The decision for scholarship based on faculty’s statement is made by LUT’s Rector • Full Scholarship application forms can be found atwww.lut.fi/masters during the application period beginning on January 3, 2011

Application Prosess • Application period from January 3 to February 28, 2011 • Application method: • All students apply through University Admission Finland (UAF)  Web-based application form  www.uaf.fi • Registration for applicant can be done immediately • Online application form for LUT’ s programmes opens at 3 th of January 2011 • Filled application with attached documents proving students eligibility to apply to certain Master’s programme, must be sent to University Admission Finland no later than February 28 th 2011 • NOTE: For Students from Double Degree Partner Universities: When registering for a language test: • For TOEFL: indicate the LUT institutional code 0496. • For IELTS: submit your test score report to the address mentioned in application information sheet for LUT’s Russian partner universities
