Overview • Analysis aims • Data samples • Analysis chains • Results • Conclusions
Analysis aims • Confirmation of the improvements due to the time informations added in the analysis chain • Comparison of the Sensitivities for different cleanings(for On-Off mode) • Comparison between the performances of the 2 different data taken mode
CRAB MUX Data samples • Off sample: 2.12 hours (2007/02/12-13), 14< Zd <30, PSF ~ 13mm On sample: 5.64 hours (2007/02/13-15-17-19), 8< Zd <30, PSF ~ 13mm • Wobble sample: 3.35 hours(2007/02/14-16), 8< Zd <30, PSF ~ 13mm (B2-1215+30 source (2007/03/12 - same Off day) for Wobble training) • MC data (On-Off, Wobble): 1 zbin 12STD Energy (power law=-2.6), PSF ~ 13mm
Analysis chains • Mars Version: 1-5-4 • Calibrated data from PIC • Preliminary Cuts: • STD Filter and Quality cuts • Lower Size = 80 phe • 40 < Dist [mm] < 340 ---> only for On-Off samples • Checks of the rates ---> runs rejections • Considered Cleanings: ABS6-3 [+ time constraints, Notime constraints] ABS[4-2, 5-2.5, 7-4] + t.c. SCALED[3-1, 2.5-0.5] +t.c. • Considered Osteria settings: STD-timing RF and STD-Notiming RF

Conclusions • Improvement of the timing analysis chain confirmed (one more time) for both data taken mode (~30% for Interm. E) • ABS6-3 + t.c. is the best cleaning in terms of Sensitivity Both time informations in IC and in RF are necessary • On-Off vs Wobble (w.r.t the fixed applied analysis cuts): • Low E (90< E [GeV] < 120): On-Off better ~ 70% in term of Exc./Sqrt(Bkg) • Intermediate E (~280GeV): On-Off better ~25% in term of the Sensitivity • High E (~1.1 TeV): On-Off mode is ~40% better than Wobble mode in term of Sensitivity • More statistics needed in order to improve the results particularly for the low Energies
Interesting “Wobble-Tables” • Wobble sample: 3.35h, Wobble MC: 1 < zbin < 12 : • Lower Size cut = 80 phes, no Dist cut applied • Logarithmic Energy Bins: 1.7 - 3.5, step 0.3 • Linear Hadronness Bins: 0.02 - 5, step 0.02 • Number of OFF points = 1 • Signal region: |Alpha| < 16 for log10(E) 2 |Alpha| < 12 for 2 log10(E) 2.2 |Alpha| < 10 for 2.2 log10(E) 2.4 |Alpha| < 8 for log10(E) > 2.4 • Q-factors -> MC Wobble data • Sensitivity (% CRAB, 50h) -> Real Wobble data • Gamma rate -> Real Wobble data
