Overview • Situation of reduced resources • New Eurostat mandate for international cooperation • Focus on regions rather than countries (Africa is the geographical priority) • Promote governance – CoP and quality frameworks • Change of staff • Many contracted out activities coming to an end • Planning for the new financial period

Other recent activities, e.g. Signing of an Action Plan with China (June 2012) Seminar on Water Statistics in the ENP & CA (Sept 2012) Seminar on SDMX in Mexico (October 2012) Support to seminars on regional cooperation strategies in El Salvador and Jakarta Publications (EU-AU, SiF)
From 2014 onwards • Focus on promoting existing tools (Essential SNA, the snapshot, the Guide, Eurotrace) • No further developments or training in relation to ASTRA • Develop of a CPI (price) tool put on hold until user needs are clearly identified • Continue to maintain ERETES in the short term, but now actively looking for other stakeholders to step up • Support to seminars aimed at sharing Eurostat's experience and practice as a regional statistical organisation to equivalent entities in Africa and Asia
