ERB 2020 AGENDA • ERB 2020 Agenda is implemented further as the long-term strategy for ERB • ERB continues to streamline its efforts around 3 Agenda objectives: • Lobbying • Strategic projects • Exchange activities • 2-year action plans continue to be drafted every year • ERB continues to hold its annual stakeholder conferences
VICE-PRESIDENT'S VISITS • 1 November – Kaliningrad Oblast, Kaliningrad • 2 November – Warmińsko Mazurskie Voivodeship, Olsztyn • 3 November – Association of Polish Communes, Elbląg • 4 November – Pomorskie Voivodeship, Gdańsk • 14 November – Regional Municipality of Bornholm, Ronne • 22 November – Region Blekinge, Karlskrona • 25 November – Regional Council in Kalmar County, Kalmar • 5 December – Regional Council in södra Småland, Växjö • 8 December – Klaipeda Regional Development Coouncil, Klaipeda
FUTURE PROGRAMMING PERIOD • ERB supports the continuation of the South Baltic programme • ERB actively monitors the content of the programme in order to: • include dialogue with our national authorities based on the unique assets • and needs of the regions • clarify the possibility to ensure that all ERB member regions can be included • lobby for a replacement of the 150 km limit for maritime borders with • objective criteria based on functional geographies • ensure that ERB will still be represented in the Monitoring Committee • which will be merged with the Steering Committee in the next programme
ERB YOUTH BOARD • ERB Vice-President acts as liaison between Executive and Youth Boards • ERB Youth Board is supported with a permanent coordinator • ERB Youth Board continues its efforts in order to have their cooperation included in the EUSBSR Action Plan
ERB YOUTH BOARD • New youth project(s) should: • implement tasks to be defined in the EUSBSR Action Plan • be based on a pre-study • relate to the themes of mentorship and entrepreneurship • apply informal learning as a working tool • bring practical results • Other: • European Voluntary Service • other youth organisations in the Baltic Sea Regions
B2B PROJECT • ERB works towards the implementation of a B2B project • B2B project(s) should be implemented by the business support organisations in ERB member regions • B2B project(s) could: • help to build cross-border business links between SMEs • relate to clusters and innovation • help to exchange information and raise awareness between SMEs and help to • transfer knowledge and best practices
OTHER ISSUES • ERB organises a forum of local stakeholders within ERB • ERB investigates the possibility for an EGTC status • ERB organises a debate on labour mobility issues
2012 – 2013 ACTION PLAN • 2012 – 2013 Action Plan considers regional interests presented during the Vice-President's visits • 2012 – 2013 Action Plan helps to implement the ERB 2020 Agenda • The goal of the ERB 2020 Agenda is to (…) help the organisation move into a new phase where it becomes a more dynamic tool to tackle common challenges observed by its members, and a strengthened political leverage in the cross-border cooperation of the Baltic Sea Region.
ERB AS A POLITICAL TOOL • Goal: to strengthen political role in the cross-border cooperation of the BSR • Internal actions: • reinforcing stakeholder approach through continuous dialogue • and information exchange: • stakeholder forum • ERB Secretariats contacts • joint projects such as B2B and youth • integrating further the Youth Board: • permanent youth coordination structure • support by the member organisations
ERB AS A POLITICAL TOOL • Goal: to strengthen political role in the cross-border cooperation of the BSR • External actions: • holding dialogue with the EC, EP, CoR and regional offices in Brussels, • as well as with Baltic Sea organisations: • cooperation agreement • joint EUSBSR paper and event • more formal links with BSSSC • actively implementing the South Baltic Programme • participating in the implementation of the EUSBSR HA on MLG: • re-submission of Involve project
