  2. Why do people send messages through music? • What songs send messages? • What do we do to write our own song? • How do we produce the song & video? • Promoting the song in the community? Focus questions

  3. There are a number of reasons why people send messages through music. • It may be to tell a story • to guide people onto a better path, • Perhaps to get people’s attention about an issue that is of great concern in the global community. Focus question 1 analysis

  4. All songs can send messages Some songs that are well known and are known to send messages include: • ‘Beds are burning’ (midnight oil) • And a more recent tune that sends a strong message is ‘Love the way you lie’(Rihanna) Focus question 2 analysis

What do we do to write our own song?  Processes we must undergo whilst creating our own song include: Create a basic melody Write lyrics Choose which instruments will create the major sound and which will create a back beat/ rhythm. Create a bridge and decide which key it will be done in. We will have to consider who will be performing it (vocals) Focus question 3 analysis

  6. How do we produce the song & video? There are a number of things we need to consider before making the song and video. Who will film the performance? Who will perform it? Where will it be filmed? When will it be filmed? What we will we keep and edit out? Focus question 4 analysis

  7. Promoting the song in the community? What buskers will be willing to sing our song and be filmed whilst performing it We will have to give the buskers that are interested, a template of what the song sounds like and let them interpret the song how they see it. Focus question 5 analysis
