  1. Cervical Final Exam Date, Time & Location Check Calendar

  2. Cervical Final Exam Final Grades will be posted by 1pm Wednesday

  3. Cervical Final Exam • 30 Points • 30 Multiple choice questions • Any questions that could have multiple answers will be indicated at that question. • Bonus questions are a possibility

  4. Cervical Final Exam • All material is fair game • There will be x-rays on the exam • Cervicals (Lateral, APOM, A-P) • C1 lateral masses already measured • Thoracics (Lateral, A-P) • Lines will already be in place • Segments highlighted • Pedicle shadows highlighted

  5. Cervical Final Exam • On the x-rays be able to determine • Listings on cervicals using line analysis • Listings on lateral thoracics using visual indicators of posteriority • Complete the listings on the A-P films

  6. Cervical Final Exam • Review Cervical syndrome and the implications of an anatomically short leg (A.D. = anatomical deficiency). • Ie AD = Left 5.6 • Patient has short left leg today Cervical Syndrome findings may be dubious. • If legs equal today it is really a short right today.

  7. Cervical Final Exam • Take spinal evaluation information and determine: • What level to adjust • Listing found • How to adjust

  8. Cervical Final Exam • Knowing what levels each type of set up is appropriate for is important. • Also, what types of listings are appropriate for each type of set up. • For example: • C7 PL-L • Set ups that include the C7 level are DP, MTM, CC, DTH • DP & MTM are done on simple listings: P, PL, PLS • CC & DTH can be on simple or rotatory listings • So your options for the C7 PL-L are CC or DTH • DTH has no torque but CC does (I-S lift)

  9. Cervical Final Exam • Use this information (level and type of listing for each set up) to help you eliminate some of the distractors that you have to choose from. • In the example of choose an adjustment for the C7 PL-L if your distractors include: SuDc, PDc, MTM, or DP, or MDP you would know that those are incorrect due to either level or listings being wrong for those choice.

  10. Cervical Final Exam • There is a page in your Cervical notes that reviews levels and listings that the different adjusting set ups are appropriate for. • Know these well

  11. Cervical Final Exam • Take spinal evaluation findings and correlate: • Palpation findings to get the listing • X-ray findings for that listing • Instrumentation break

  12. Cervical Final Exam • Take spinal evaluation findings and correlate: • Usually more than one piece of information will be given that will point you in the right direction to the answer. • Highlight the important pieces of information in the question. • Write down or draw what is being described to help find the information you need.

  13. Cervical Final Exam • Take spinal evaluation findings and correlate: • A negative finding may give you information that will eliminate one possibility for adjusting and make another level more appropriate to adjust.

  14. Cervical Final Exam • Given adjusting set up information determine: • Type of adjustment being done • Listing that is being adjusted

  15. Cervical Final Exam 1 Cartesian coordinate system question: May be given set up information and have to determine listing in the Cartesian coordinate system May be given Cartesian coordinate system information and have to determine SCP, CP. LOC, type of adjustment being done, etc.
