Senior English 2/24/14 • What is the most interesting part of the mock trial for you? • Did you hear about the guy who lost his left arm in a car crash? • Mundungus – Very old word for smelling like garbage or dung. Often used to refer to bad smelling tobacco. Goals – Work on writing first so you understand the various roles. Work on reading to u nderstand your own role. Homework – Begin study of Week 22 vocabulary words.

  2. Senior English 2/25/14 • Do you think citizen participation is important to the rule of law? Why or why not? • How do crazy people find their way in the forest? • Pox and piles – curse from the middle ages. Goals –Work on your writing roles for the mock trial roles. Homework – None.

Senior English 2/26/14 • If you were arrested and put on trial how would you try to get a fair trial? • How does a spoiled boy change the oil in his car? • Riggafrutch – means nothing but sounds nasty. Goals – Work on the force of your argument and eloquence in opening and closing statements. Get your first writing piece done. Homework – Show me first writing piece- typed 12 point, Times New Roman, etc. Points tomorrow. Vocabulary #22 tomorrow.

Goals – Complete vocabulary #22, work on Second writng piece. Homework – Print out and turn in both writing pieces tomorrow by the end of the day. Be prepared to work with the judge.

Do you ever consider “reasonable doubt” in your own life? • What do prisoners use to call each other? • Umslopogus – fictional name should be a curse word. Goals – Work with Judge Short to refine aour preparation for the Mock Trial on Monday. Homework – Prepare for your role in the Mock trial. There will be no notes.
