Styles • Togas were usually worn by men and in ancient Rome. • Cloths were designed to be comfortable and to have individuality. • The women distinguish themselves from the different societies around them, which the other societies thought the idea was unusual and un-lady like.   4. Fabrics • Roman clothing were usually made of relatively heavier woolly fabric. • Although the poor would wear anything they could find. • Iboss.com

  5. Patterns • Roman clothing is similar to ancient Greek clothing but the Romans had a distinct leaf pattern. • The toga, tunic, and the stolahad a geometric pattern.

  6. Dyeing • The dye came from Tyre, Lebanon and was usually used by wealthy women. • A popular tint was indigo which allowed colors yellow and blue to show. • Red was the cheapest available dye.
