What is MSS in EmpowHR? • Allows managers to: • initiate various personnel actions • view employee data • view the history of personnel actions • “Work” an action by either: • Approving – sends action to next step in Workflow • Denying – cancels action in Workflow; action must be reinitiated for it to be processed • Pushing Back – sends action to previous step in Back Workflow • Receive an email notification after action is processed by processing staff

Example of PossibleBack-end Workflow Roles • HR Reviewer 1 – First step of back-end workflow • HR Reviewer 2 – Second level of review • HR Reviewer 3 – Third level of review • HR Reviewer 4 – Fourth level of review • HR Reviewer 5 – Fifth level of review • Approver – Final step before it reaches the HR Processor • HR Processor – Final step of back-end workflow, sends action to NFC * Actions do NOT need to go through every level of approval before getting to the HR Processor. Someone with the HR Reviewer 1 role may change the PAR Status to APV which sends it to the HR Processor.
