BHP group’s priorities for local action • Bring together and learn from people with lived experience • Develop a collective and collaborative approach to problem-solving in health and care • Develop a co-produced, STP-wide MH crisis service map • Identify and benchmark against national standards • Review and explore digital solutions to support people in crisis • Share learning across the STP footprint and beyond • Build on what is already going on. @SocialEnt_UK @IVAR_UK #BHPselfcare

What helps us recover and stay well? • Company of friends and partners • Exercise • Connecting with nature • Life management: eating well, sleeping well • Talking to friends and family • Holidays • “keeping the journey going forward” • Values: respect • Routine • Peers and shared experience • Food and wine • Meditation and mindfulness • Sense of belonging and being part of a community @SocialEnt_UK @IVAR_UK #BHPselfcare

What gets in the way? • Faceless relationships • Fragmentation/compartmentalization of our lives • Feeling you are a burden • Too many things to do • Disjointed services • Seasons/weather • Not enough opportunity • Finances • A lack of time • Stretched and demoralized staff delivering services – can’t get a fast enough response • Social media • The state of the world • Lack of social enterprise and opportunities – highest ESA, coming out of crisis into recovery and no opportunity @SocialEnt_UK @IVAR_UK #BHPselfcare

  6. Language Workshop attendees paid special attention to jargon throughout the meeting to ensure everyone understood the language used. The following includes some of the shorthand terms and abbreviations used: • CPN – Community Psychiatric Nurse • CMHT – Community Mental Health Team • CMHRS – Community Mental Health Recovery Service • CAMHS – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services • SMART – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timebound @SocialEnt_UK @IVAR_UK #BHPselfcare
