  2. What is Digital Citizenship? Digital citizenship is defined as the norms of appropriate, responsible behavior with regard to technology use. Why Digital Citizenship • Not just about E-Rate • Provide training with the tools… • Can’t just rely on the AUP • Temper Words • Did you say that? … What about tone? • Immerse learning into their world • This is how they communicate, create… • Prepare for future …but also be aware of the pitfalls and how to respond

  5. Classroom Implications • Embrace technology … student use • Use when and where appropriate • Rules and procedures • Model appropriate technology use • Teach students to use responsibly • Reinforce Nine Elements
