AboutNCRD • Executive agency supervised by the Minister of Science and Higher Education • One of the two research funding agencies in Poland • Established in 2007 with new by-laws since 2010 • Agency funding applied research and research intensive development • Grants offered to companies and research performing organizations • Annual budget exceeding 1 billion EUR

NCRD’s activities • Support of sustainable economic growth of Poland through the use of R&D results • Funding for applied research • Funding commercialization and transfer of scientific research results to the economy • Facilitation of science-business cooperation • Financing of international cooperation • Supporting the development of young scientists • Financing of research for security and defense • Main funding initiatives: • Programmes designed according to national science policy (strategic programmes – STRATEGMED, BIOSTRATEG, TECHMATSTRATEG) • Programmes supporting innovative economy and competitiveness [ 3 ]
