Discussion EPISD | The Issue | Concerns • 1883 - The El Paso Independent School District and board opened the doors to El Paso’s first public school • 1885 - The first high school in El Paso was built and opened to the public. • Currently is the largest district in the Texas Education Agency's Educational Service Center - Region 19 • Also “the 10th largest district in Texas and the 61st largest district in the United States.” • Now serving more than 64,000 students in 94 campuses
