  3. Forming Gerundives • Using the present participle, take off the “-ns” and add “ndus”. • Examples: • amans = amandus • videns = videndus • trahens = trahendus • capiens = capiendus • audiens = audiendus

  4. Passive Periphrastic • If you put a gerundive with a form of “to be” you get a passive periphrastic. • nobisdormiendumest • The “subject” of the phrase is in the dative, and the “direct object” is nominative and matched by the gerundive. • matriservipuniendisunt
