  3. Rabbit Facts Baby rabbits are called kits. Baby rabbits are born without fur. Lop rabbits are one of the most popular types kept as pets. A rabbits teeth never stop growing. A male rabbit is called a buck. A female rabbit is called a doe. Rabbits have an average life span of 8 to 10 years.

  5. DUTCH RABBITS The Dutch Rabbit is a small breed of rabbit, weighing 3.5 - 5.5 pounds. The Dutch rabbit originated in Holland around 1850 and then came to England in 1864. The Dutch rabbit is always white in colour, along with another base colour.

  6. Lionhead Lionhead rabbits can live for 6 to 10 years. The Lionhead is one of the newest rabbit breeds. Lionhead rabbits originated in Belgium. An average lionhead would weigh 2.5 to 4 pounds. They got named lionhead because of there mane.

  7. Tan The Tan rabbit breed first appeared in Britain in 1887. A male Tan weighs 4 to 5 pounds. A female adult weighs 4 to 6 pounds. Tans can be black, blue or chocolate coloured.

  8. REX The Rex breed was found in France in 1919. A Rex on average weighs 7.5 to 10.5 pounds. A Rex can be black, blue, white or chocolate coloured. A Rex rabbit has an average life span of 8 to 10 years.

  9. FRENCH LOP The French lop came from France in 1850. A French lop can live for 5 years or more. French Lop rabbits can be black, white, brown or blue in coloured. A male French Lop on average weighs 13-14 pounds.

  10. AMERICAN SABLE The American Sable came from America in 1929. American Sables weigh 7 to 9 pounds at a male adult age. The American Sable came from breeding Chinchilla crosses. Females weigh 8 to 10 pounds.

  11. HOLLAND LOP A buck (male) Holland Lop rabbit weighs 4 to 6 pounds. Holland Lops can be black, blue, cream, orange or red. Holland Lops came from the Netherlands in 1952. A doe (female) on average weighs 5 to 6 pounds.
