  2. Animals Toucan Jaguar Toucans sleep in holes in trees. If they don’t fit they turn themselves into a feathery ball to make themselves smaller. Jaguar means killer that takes its prey in a single bound.

  3. Animals Puma A puma can leap up to 20 feet.

  4. Photos This is a photo of Belize’s famous Atolls. This is the Belize national flag. The red, white and blue of the Belize Flag symbolizes the unity of the Belize nation. This is Belize's house of government. Like the white house.

  5. Author from Belize • Zee Edgell- Beka Lamb is one of her famous novels. • Felicia Hernandez- I Don't Know You, But I Love You: Write Me a Letter? was her first novel published. • Kalilah Enríquez- Unfettered is one of her poems.

  6. Government • Belize is part of Parliament Democracy. • Parliamentary Democracy is a system of representative government in which the dominant party in the legislature determines the Prime Minister. • A Prime Minister runs the country.

  7. Cities • Belize City-61,461 people • San Ignacio-16,812 people • Orange Walk-15,298 people

  8. Culture • Belize is a multi-ethnic country and is occupied by a number of ethnic groups such as Mayans, Mennonites, Kriols, Garifuna and Mestizos. The other groups are Spanish, English, Lebanese, East Indian and Chinese. • The most popular sports are soccer and basketball. • Belizean marriages are commonly celebrated with church weddings.
