Teacher Introduction V a l s • Ms. Penny • pgehan@stvalentineschool.com • Teaching experience: 25 years • Preschool Aid- Mrs. Danielle Wilhelmsen • Preschool Lunch Aid- full day 4’s Mrs. Monique Nash • I am so excited to meet all the children in the 3 & 4 year old classes. We are also starting a new all day 4 year old program this year which is going to be a lot of fun!

Values rooted in Catholic teachings V a l s • In religion we will be using Seeds religion and “What the Church Believes and teaches”. • Our school year theme is "We are disciplines, following Jesus together”. • Preschool Prayers- we recite the Guardian Angel prayer every morning. At snack we use a variety of prayers including The Lord’s Prayer.

Academic Excellence V a l s • In Preschool we learn through play, small group and whole group activity. • We work on sharing • We work on learning to listen to each other • We work on identifying and matching Upper & Lower alphabet letters • We will learn our colors & shapes • We will learn to write our names • We are continuing to grow in our listening skills • We are continuing to grow in our attention span • We work on learning to follow one and two step directions

  5. Academic Excellence (con’t) V a l s • We (Teacher & Parent) work on a folder that comes back and forth to school & home as a cumulative effort working together. • We will have two Conferences through out the year. We will meet together so that we can discuss your child’s progress.

  8. Strong Community in Christ (con’t) V a l s • Half Day of school on Friday, September 24. 2016 • We will be planning an Orchard trip in October! • Picture Day- Wednesday, September 14 for the • 4 year olds Dress up! • Picture Day-Thursday, October 27for the 3 year olds Dress Up!

If you have any questions over the material presented, please send me an email. There will be a Parent Open House on Friday, September 16th from 3:30-4:30pm. I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Please join us at the Family Mass and Ice Cream Social on Friday, Sept. 9th at 6:00pm.
