What you will be doing? • In your group you are to read both essays: that means everyone in the group reads both essays!!! • Discuss amongst yourselves why you think one piece was better than the other. Talk about the following (next slide)…
What to consider/ discuss? Remember how you are being marked – what the marks are given for. You need these to know what to consider when reading the essay. Research = 12 marks Presentation = 8 marks Analysis = 12 marks Evaluation= 8 marks
What to consider/ discuss? Other issues… • Strengths and weaknesses • The quality and comprehensiveness of the research. • How the research was used – did it back up any arguments or view points. Was it used to answer the question? • Use of appendices (plural) or appendix (singular)

Other issues… • Are there opinions or judgements with reasons? • How well it is presented – do the use of business models or pictures enhance the answering of the question? • How many key terms were used – was their business knowledge demonstrated? • WAS THE QUESTION ANSWERED? Was the conclusion effective?
What to consider/ discuss? Other issues… • You now need to produce a list with 20 items on it: • 10 ways to improve the work • 10 strengths of the work. • You will then use these and visit the other groups to compare answers.
