Workshop Objective: - Networking of GEOSS Stakeholders in Science and Technology (S&T) of GEOSS; - Activate contributions from the stakeholders for the implementation of the Road Map of the GEO Science and Technology Committee (STC); Workshop Activities: - Inform participating stakeholders about EGIDA; - Solicit feedback and contributions from stakeholders; - Constitute the Advisory Board; - Receive directions from the Advisory Board; - Elaborate S&T user requirements; - Start gap analysis with respect to S&T requirements.
Focus on: - Implementation of the S&T Road Map; - Solicit proposals for contributions to specific tasks; - Initiate a dialog between GEO and funding agencies. Challenge: - GEO is in Work Plan and Management Transition; - Future GEO Components not defined.
Expected Outcomes: - Fully functional Advisory Board; - EGIDA Stakeholder Network active; Anticipated Documents: - Plan of Action for Stakeholder Network for 2011; - Description of specific contributions to Road Map implementation; - Draft document detailing communication of S&T needs and opportunities to funding agencies; - Workshop report.
