The Evaluation Network Institute of Psychological Sciences Two forms of Module Review: Minor Review: (Every yr, unless problems, then Major Review) Major Review: (2nd Yr of Module, then every 4 yrs, unless problems) Staff enter their own data and compile report using standard form (includes statistics, and comments)

The Evaluation Network Institute of Psychological Sciences Integrated Observation of Teaching • Staff/PGs observed each year by staff • All forms of teaching • Observer/Observed agree report • Report indicates ‘Practice for Dissemination’ • Practice Section sent to Module/Programme Review Sub-Committee • Report sent to Head of Institute (for career development)

The Evaluation Network Institute of Psychological Sciences Module/Programme Review Sub-Committee • ‘Arms Length’ Sub-Committee of LTC • Meets after each semester • Considers each review in context of previous year’s review • For Major reviews Module leader is invited • Writes to Module Leaders • Alerts LTC of problems • Reports to FLTC

The Evaluation Network Institute of Psychological Sciences Separate Programme Review • Questionnaire at end of Programme • About ‘whole programme experience’ • Administered when students submit projects • Collected when students collect their copies • Distinct from Module Reviews • Reports to LTC • Reports to Staff Briefing in September and FLTC

The Evaluation Network Institute of Psychological Sciences Recent discussions and alterations • With large numbers, entering data a problem • Move to biennial reviews for modules above 3.5 • Major reviews move to every 6th year • New staff annual reviews for 3 years • Whole observation report to MPRSC • Questions on staff review about observation/teaching • Consider machine-readable/online

Even more recent discussions and alterations (LTC last week) • Abandon Major reviews • Revise Module Review Form to include prompts from Major Review • Whole observation report to MPRSC and HoD • Questions on staff review about observation/teaching
