For the Show, you will individually complete: • Professional display and exhibition of your FMP work • Business Cards – designed and printed for the private view • Poster to promote your work • Artist Statement – with your portrait • Organize your Private View night with your classmates • Select team of students to design group poster and publicity materials – decide a name/title of your show • Price your work for sale

FMP - Unit 6 On completion of this unit a learner should: • Be able to carry out personal research from contextual sources • Be able to generate solutions to a negotiated brief • Be able to select and experiment safely with specialist media, materials and techniques • Understand factors when reviewing work and developing outcomes • Be able to realise and present final outcomes to meet a brief

  9. SOI Examples Use the providesd examples as a guideline of how to write your own SOI. Grades of the examples vary between Fail - Distinction. Can you spot a well-written SOI??

  10. Appendix & Bibliography To be included as the last page of your SOI: • Weekly Calendar • Bibliography

  11. Calendar • 9 College Weeks – (11 including Easter) • Detail how you will complete your FMP • Each week explain what you will be doing • Balance between research, practical work, editing, production, reflection …

  12. Bibliography • Use Harvard Referencing • List the most influential books, magazine articles, publications, websites, exhibitions, artists, galleries, and any other contextual references for your FMP.

  13. Lessons • Contextual Studies • write project essay • research for FMP • Digital Lesson • editing • produce film (show reel) or book of your FMP • develop blog • Practical Lessons • Darkroom • Shooting • Studio • Critiques & Feedback

  14. Deadlines … • Submit only digital copies to tutors • 1st Draft of SOI due 19th March • Returned with comments/suggestions following week by 21st March • Re-write and make final corrections • Final Draft of completed SOI due 28th March – 3pm to Agar • SOI sent to Exam Board in last post run on Friday 28st March • YOU CAN NOT MISS THIS DEADLINE! YOUR STATEMENTS ARE SENT TO THE EXAM BOARD! YOU CAN TURN THEM IN EARLY!

Deadlines for FMP… • Written Feedback Deadline: w/c 26th May • Final Assessment Deadline w/c 2nd June • Sketchbook, Blog, Reflective Journal, Essay, Final Evaluation and Final Outcomes will be collected in for PRIVATE MARKING! • Show Build – w/c 26th May & w/c 2nd June • Exhibition - Creative Arts Festival - Week of 9th June • Final grades decided after participation in exhibition

  16. Completing your FMP • Begin your FMP now! Even if you are still writing your SOI • Work in 1 new FMP sketchbook – you get 1 for free! • Maintain a reflective journal separate from your sketchbook • BLOG IS STILL MANDATORY - your reflective journal and blog could be the same thing.
