  2. Does PP = no more OHPs? • PowerPoint can be used to project presentations or to prepare OHPs • Consider the audience and facilities. • Always have back up OHPs? UEL Presentation

Presentation Guide • Prioritise content not style • Keep text big (24 plus) • Keep slides “clean” - not busy • Use only 2 or 3 fonts & colours that can be read • If you use animation - use only 1 or two different type of effects • avoid forcing clip art to fit. Try inserting other images UEL Presentation

  4. Clipart • Clip Art exists in PowerPoint - however this is limited. It can be resized using the “handles” on the size of the box. • You can scribble UEL Presentation

  5. Animated clip art • Animated clip art is also available in Microsoft PowerPoint. • Only later versions of PowerPoint (2000) appear to work animations. UEL Presentation

  6. Graphs • Graphs can be difficult to design in PowerPoint - I suggest importing (copy and paste) charts from other programs UEL Presentation

  7. Scanned Pictures • Pictures and diagrams can be scanned. • Scanners cost as little as £40. You don’t need an expensive one as high resolution is often too good and file sizes too big! UEL Presentation

  9. Photographs 2 • Photographs can be sourced from: • the internet (www.altavista.co.uk) • digital cameras • web cams • CD Roms • Scanned photographs • If in doubt as to how to transfer images - use the copy and paste function UEL Presentation

  10. Video • Video can be imported from: • the internet • cheap Web Cams • CD Roms • video cameras connected to the PC UEL Presentation

  11. Coloured backgrounds • Change the colour of the background using the Format menu and Background. • You can also change the colour of the text. Use the Format menu and Font. • Remember your sense of taste! UEL Presentation
