  1. The War of the Roses • L.O: Describe the events of the War of the Roses and the introduction of the Tudors. • Starter: Make a list of qualities that you think would make a good king.

  2. Reading • Read the rest of the chapter from page 87 – 92 and answer the following questions in your book: • Why was it called the ‘War of the Roses’? • Who was involved in the conflict? Full sentence answers!

  3. Argue your point! • You are now s supporter of the war: • Girls group & Javi/Dany = Lancasters • Rest of the class = Yorkists • Write down at least 3 valid arguments as to why your side deserves to be the ruling power in England. • Match up with someone on the other side and argue your case.

  4. Video Clip • Watch the video on the War of the Roses + Richard III and answer the following questions in your exercise book: • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoJMOMy7o3c • Who won in the end? • How many times did the power change hands? • How many battles were there?

  5. Richard III • Answer the following in your exercise book: • Why is Richard III thought to have been evil? • What do you think? • Who was responsible for the rumours about him? • Why did Shakespeare make him out to be the bad guy in his play?

  6. Worksheet • Complete the ‘fill in the gaps’ worksheet at the front of class. Cut out and glue into your books.
