Architecture Education & Training Certified Enterprise Architects design the information technology architecture structure enabling the efficient and effective acquisition of hardware, software and services utilized by the DoD in missions supporting the warfighters.   4. Competency Applications Compensation Selection Training & Development Succession Planning Competencies Career Planning Organizational Alignment Performance Appraisal Classification

  5. Purpose • To develop a clear and broadly consistent path for Enterprise Architecture career progression within the DoD to include positions or roles, qualifications, critical development experiences, and career success factors. UNCLASSIFIED

  6. Membership • The DoD EACPWG shall consist of DoD government representatives and/or senior technical engineers of DoD Departments and Agencies. The Working Group members may be mission owners or senior policy and technology officials to include senior information managers officially representing their government organization. UNCLASSIFIED

  7. Objectives • Review current official government policy, direction, and guidance on Architecture Career Paths • Draft and coordinate policy, guidance, direction, and criteria for the identification, development, and implementation of the DoD Architecture Career Path. • Provide a forum for sharing best standard practices and support the development of enterprise architectures and solutions architectures • Review architecture competencies for architects that support the United States Government (USG) Common Approach as defined by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) UNCLASSIFIED

  8. Objectives • Review current OPM Job Series • Review and identify current available training on Enterprise Architecture • Understand current work force needs, gaps, knowledge, skills, and abilities within the DoD UNCLASSIFIED

  9. Research and Testing • Literature Review • Surveying • Observational Studies • Competency Framework Pilot Program • Working with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for Mission Critical Occupation (MCO) • June 20-24, 2011 UNCLASSIFIED
