  3. Anxious • Adjective • Definition: To be excited or nervous for something. • Example: Dan was anxious to know his test score.

  4. Recognize • Verb • Definition: To know something by what it looks like, sounds like, feels like, tastes like, or smells like. • Example: Sydney recognized Erica’s jacket on the playground.

  5. Adore • Verb • Definition: To love something very much. • Example: Ajah adore Trey Songz.

  6. Retire • Verb • Definition: To stop working because of being too old or having met all goals • Example: Michael Jordan has retired from professional basketball.

  7. Vacant • Adjective • Definition: Empty • Example: The boys play football on the vacant lot in town.

  8. Spruce • Verb • Definition: To fix up or decorate. • Example: We spruced up the messy classroom.
